Arriving in the UK for the first time is a different experience to a short hop across the country. It often follows a long-haul flight, often means travelling alone, and often comes with more luggage than a typical domestic journey, so it's worth planning for a few things specifically:
Give yourself time after landing: Between immigration, baggage reclaim and finding your driver, it's sensible to allow a couple of hours after your scheduled landing time before you need to be anywhere else.
Book before you travel: Arranging your transfer in advance, ideally once your flight is confirmed, means one less thing to sort out after a long journey. You'll have a driver tracking your flight and ready to meet you rather than needing to arrange transport after you've landed.
