Southampton is the UK's number one cruise port and the cruise capital of Northern Europe, welcoming more than two million passengers a year. Our Southampton cruise port transfers run fixed-price private taxis between the port's five cruise terminals and London, Heathrow, Gatwick, Luton and towns across the south. Tell us your ship and terminal when you book and we handle the rest: fixed fare, meet and greet, timed to your sailing.
Getting the terminal right matters at Southampton. The port is split between Western Docks and Eastern Docks, and the terminals are not interchangeable. We ask for your terminal at booking so your driver goes to exactly the right drop-off point.
Southampton has five dedicated cruise terminals, operated by Associated British Ports (ABP):
Queen Elizabeth II Terminal (Berths 38/39, Eastern Docks, SO14 3GG): One of the original cruise terminals, used by Cunard and others.
City Terminal (Berth 101, Western Docks): The busiest terminal, with extensive check-in facilities for the largest ships.
Ocean Terminal (Berth 46, Eastern Docks, SO14 3QN): Home to P&O Cruises' largest ships, including the LNG-powered Iona.
Mayflower Terminal (Berth 106, Western Docks, SO15 1HJ): Named for the ship that sailed from Southampton in 1620.
Horizon Cruise Terminal (Berth 102, Western Docks, SO15 1AW): The newest terminal, opened with roof-mounted solar power and shore power connectivity, inside Dock Gate 10.
For drivers: City, Mayflower and Horizon are reached via Dock Gates 10 and 20 (M271/A3024 from M27 junction 3). Ocean and QEII are in the Eastern Docks via Dock Gate 4 (A33 from M3 junction 14). Tell us your terminal and we plan the approach.
Southampton is home port to P&O Cruises (Arcadia, Aurora, Azura, Britannia, Ventura, Iona), Cunard (Queen Mary 2, Queen Victoria, Queen Elizabeth), Princess Cruises (Royal Princess, Sapphire Princess), Celebrity Cruises and Royal Caribbean (Independence of the Seas). It is also used by MSC Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line, Fred. Olsen, Saga, Seabourn, Silversea and Azamara.

Heathrow to Southampton cruise port: The classic fly-cruise run: we meet you at Heathrow arrivals and drive to your terminal, timed for check-in.
Gatwick to Southampton cruise port: Via the M23/M25/M3, with the same flight-tracking and timing.
Many passengers fly in before sailing: We run airport transfers from Heathrow, Gatwick, Luton and Stansted, and can book your flight-to-ship journey as one trip.
Cruise check-in opens a few hours before departure and closes well before the ship sails. Share your sailing details and we schedule the pickup so you reach the terminal comfortably before check-in closes. From London, allow around two hours in normal traffic; from Heathrow, around 90 minutes. We build in margin for the M3 and M25.
On return sailings, your driver meets you at the terminal arrivals area as passengers disembark. Southampton's terminals clear in waves, so we allow generous waiting time.
Embarkation: The driver drops you at your cruise terminal entrance and helps with luggage to the drop-off point. We confirm the terminal and dock gate with you before the trip.
Disembarkation: Meet and greet in the terminal arrivals area. Your driver waits with a name board, helps with bags, and walks you to the car.
Cruise trips mean heavy cases. Two to three large cases plus hand luggage fit a saloon comfortably. Book an estate or MPV for a family with extra hold needs, and the 8-seater minibus for groups of up to eight with full luggage. Child seats are available on request.
