Plan a TripYes, On normal days you can pre-book a taxi from anywhere in Wembley for local trips, Central London or any UK airport. On event days it's harder, because with up to 90,000 people leaving at once, cars that aren't pre-booked often can't reach the stadium area for some time. With The Royal Britain Airport Transfer, you can book your return journey in advance at a fixed fare and arrange a meeting point just off Olympic Way or at a nearby hotel. That's far easier than trying to find a cab outside the stadium.
Wembley Park station (Jubilee and Metropolitan lines) is about a 10-minute walk from the stadium along Olympic Way. Wembley Central (Bakerloo line and London Overground) is around 15 to 20 minutes on foot. After a big event, the walk is only part of it. Queues to enter Wembley Park station can take anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour. A pre-booked taxi from a nearby meeting point avoids those queues.
Wembley is around 8 to 10 miles from Central London. The fare depends on your exact pickup point and the vehicle you choose. Enter both in the online quote tool to see a fixed price before you book. The fare is agreed upfront, so North Circular traffic or event-day congestion won't change what you pay. For groups, one MPV or minibus is often better value than several cabs.
You have three main options: Tube: Wembley Park (Jubilee and Metropolitan lines). Train: Wembley Stadium station (Chiltern Railways to Marylebone) or Wembley Central. Pre-booked taxi. All three get very busy straight after the show. For a taxi, book your return journey when you book your outbound trip, and agree a meeting point away from the stadium bowl, where vehicle access is restricted on event nights. This is especially worthwhile for families, groups, or anyone heading outside London late at night.
Expect it to take a while. Leaving the stadium itself can take 15 to 30 minutes, and then station queues often add another 15 minutes to an hour, especially at Wembley Park. Traffic around the stadium is also slow for the first hour or so after the show. Pre-booking a taxi with a meeting point a short walk from the stadium is one of the easiest ways to get away. It also means you're not standing in a station queue late at night.
For most people from Central London, the easiest route is the Jubilee or Metropolitan line to Wembley Park, followed by a 10-minute walk up Olympic Way. Chiltern Railways trains from Marylebone to Wembley Stadium station are also quick. If you're travelling from outside London, with children, with mobility needs, or as a group, a pre-booked taxi takes you door to door at a fixed fare. Book your return at the same time.
For a solo traveller from Central London, the tube is usually the quickest and cheapest option on the way there. The return journey is where planning matters most. If you want to avoid long station queues or need to get home outside London late at night, a pre-booked taxi is often the better choice. We cover Wembley Stadium and OVO Arena events, with vehicles from saloons to 16-seater minibuses for groups. Your fare is fixed when you book.
Most Wembley Stadium concerts finish by 10:30pm, which is the usual curfew. Sunday shows often finish earlier, around 10pm. Exact times vary by event, so check the timings published for your concert. Use the finish time to plan your pickup. Allow at least 30 to 45 minutes after the show ends to reach your meeting point, and confirm it with your driver when you book.
About 10 minutes, straight down Olympic Way to the front of the stadium. On event days the walk is busy and can take longer, especially in the hour before kick-off or doors opening. If anyone in your group has limited mobility, a pre-booked taxi to an accessible drop-off point nearby may be easier than walking from the station.
Wembley Stadium station, on the south side of the stadium, is the closest. It's served by Chiltern Railways from London Marylebone. Wembley Park, on the Jubilee and Metropolitan lines, is about a 10-minute walk away and is the busiest station on event days. Wembley Central, on the Bakerloo line and London Overground, is roughly 15 to 20 minutes on foot. Wembley Stadium station doesn't have a taxi rank, so if you're continuing by car, book your taxi in advance.
For most events, the train or tube is better than driving. Parking near the stadium is limited, must usually be booked in advance, and traffic leaving the area after an event can be very slow. A pre-booked taxi gives you some of the convenience of driving without the parking: you're dropped near the stadium and collected from an agreed meeting point afterwards, at a fixed fare. It's especially practical for groups who would otherwise pay for several train tickets.
