Portsmouth International Port is one of the south coast's key sailing points, handling cruise ships alongside Brittany Ferries sailings to France and Spain and Condor Ferries to the Channel Islands. Portsmouth International Port (Wharf Road, PO2 8RU) is owned by Portsmouth City Council and has been operating since 1976. It is the UK's second largest passenger ferry port, handling around 2.7 million passengers a year, with more cross-channel ferry routes than any other UK port.
Cruise sailings use the port's cruise facilities, while Brittany Ferries operate from Berth 1 to Caen, St Malo, Cherbourg, Bilbao and Santander. The port is easy to reach: the M275 leads directly to the terminal, and Portsmouth Harbour and Portsmouth & Southsea stations are a short taxi ride away, with trains to London Waterloo in around 85 minutes.
If you are combining a cruise with a stay in the city, the Historic Dockyard (HMS Victory, HMS Warrior, the Mary Rose Museum) and Gunwharf Quays are all close to the port.

Cruise check-in opens a few hours before departure and closes well before the ship sails. Share your sailing details when you book and we schedule the pickup so you reach Portsmouth International Port comfortably before check-in closes. The drive from London is around 90 minutes in normal traffic via the A3 or M3, but we build in margin.
On return sailings, your driver meets you at the terminal as passengers disembark. We allow generous waiting time, so you are met when you walk out.
Embarkation: The driver drops you at the cruise terminal entrance at Portsmouth International Port and helps with your luggage to the drop-off point.
Disembarkation: Meet and greet at the terminal. Your driver waits with a name board, helps with your bags, and walks you to the car. No searching the car park.
Cruise trips mean heavy cases. A saloon suits two to three large cases plus hand luggage. Book an estate or MPV for a family with extra hold needs, and the 8-seater minibus for groups of up to eight with full luggage. Child seats are available on request.
